Cooling towers are common fixtures at factories, power plants, and many other types of industrial facilities. Heat generated by the machinery is dissipated by these towers. It's also crucial since it keeps the factory's many systems operating smoothly and efficiently.
Installing or selecting a cooling tower is a big decision that should not be made without first doing extensive study. You must take extra caution when selecting a cooling tower because of the direct impact it will have on the manufacturing process.
And as such I decided to write this article based on my experience analyzing errors in cooling tower work or other cooling-tower-related-work of the vendor with whom our customers previously worked with and failed before coming to visit us. I am confident that the reader will benefit from this post in some way.
Now, before we get into the meat of the matter, I'd like to offer a brief introduction for those who are unfamiliar with who we are.
Innovek Asia is Thailand's leading cooling tower producer, with world-class standards. Our team of specialists has over 15 years of experience and expertise in products and services, offering a comprehensive range of services from design to installation, including cooling tower inspection and maintenance both domestically and globally.
Now that we already know each other Let's get into today's article.

New customers with a wide variety of cooling tower issues continue to flood in. In order for me to give you every detail, I'm not sure how many days it would require to write an article.
Which is also why, I will only provide a brief overview of the most frequent concerns that bring customers to us today. Readers who have not encountered these problems or who have encountered some of these problems but have been unable to pinpoint the source would benefit greatly from being made aware of it in advance so that they can avoid the damage that will occur later.
In today's article, we'll look at the two main factorsexcessive cost cutting and employing a service provider with insufficient experiencethat might lead to problems with your cooling tower. As a result of both, a larger problem arises.
An ineffective cooling tower installation is a common tactic used by cooling tower service providers who prey on customers who are overly concerned with cost savings.
In an effort to keep prices down, some providers cut corners on safety factors.Prerequisites for a building, substance, or piece of equipment to function properly are established by the safety factor. When safety criteria are lowered, prices are reduced but risks are increased.
Recommendation: Safety is crucial and should not be compromised in any way. It is critical to you and the lifespan of your cooling tower.
Some provides utilize a Car drive shaft
to connect the gear and the motor.
Because of its high eccentricity tolerance, it is employed as a drive between the cooling tower's gear and motor. The cost-effectiveness of this material makes it an excellent candidate for use. But, there is no denying that unbalance will shorten the lifespan of your Gear.
Recommendation: Consider using a straight shaft, as it is kinder on the gear and the engine and weights much less. Don't forget to check your alignment settings; this will help you get more use out of the equipment.
Another way to keep prices down,
some providers supply low quality equipment.
Quality equipment, such as that used to construct a cooling tower, has a far longer useful life than its low-grade (by more than a decade), but it also costs more. It has happened to the customers who opted for the cheaper option on multiple occasions that a cooling tower has failed shortly after the warranty has expired.
Recommendation: The higher the quality of the equipment, such as Tier 1 or Grade A, the better. It has a service life of at least ten years and is worth more than buying cheap goods that need to be serviced or replaced every three or five years.
Your choice of equipment is amazing! But, being installed by an unprofessional team is no better than having low-quality equipment.
Equipment in cooling towers, especially the Gears,
are wrongly set by unprofessional providers.
Gear speed calculations, whether done manually, or using a device all have a detrimental impact on the Gearbox. In particular, if the gear speed is set too high, even accidentally, it will cause excessive vibration, which will eventually cause the gearbox to fail much more quickly than normal.
Some providers did not tell you but you should know
that there are further options for securing motor and gear
Chemical Bolt refers to a method of securing motor and gear that involves attaching the base of the structure using the chemical contained in a tube. It comes loose and falls off after some use, potentially damaging the Gear and the Fan at the same time. Not like when you use an Anchor Bolt to secure the base. It has the appearance of a L or J and can be fastened to the cement foundation of the building so that it won't come away during frequent vibration.

If you choose a cooling tower service company without adequate experience, you run the risk of constant disruptions. Either the equipment will break down frequently, requiring downtime for repairs, or the components will not work together as intended. In either case, the cooling tower may function normally, but its lifespan will be shortened.
One common misconception is that high-priced machinery is the only way to ensure a fully functioning cooling tower. Truthfully, it's not always the case, because there are cases where it's more cruel due to some provider only offering cheap products at excessive costs.
My opinion is that the most crucial factor in selecting a cooling tower is the company you decide to work with to install and maintain it. Your mind can be set at ease knowing that you have hired a reliable and skilled service provider. If you're on a tight budget and need to scale back the cooling tower's specifications, for instance, your service provider will be there to offer advice and suggestions while also pointing out the benefits and drawbacks of each option so you can make an informed decision and be comfortable with the associated risks right from the start.
It is my sincere hope that you will gain something from reading this.
